Man charged over 78-year-old wife’s death at home in Canberra’s south

An 86-year-old man has been charged the death of his wife at home in Gordonin ACTon Sunday morning.
The 78-year-old woman was discovered at around 7.25am by police who were called to check on her condition.
Ambulance paramedics rushed to the property on Togo Pl c Canberrato the south, but were unable to revive her.

The woman’s husband was arrested at a Fadden residence a short time later before being taken to Canberra Hospital for examination.
He was formally charged with murder on Monday.
Detective Acting Superintendent Stephen Ladd said on Sunday he did not believe other people were involved and the pair were not previously known to police.
