‘Kind-hearted’ uncle Ryan Grafton killed when car hits Uber in Wacol

The sister of a man who was killed when the Uber he was in was hit by another car said he was the best uncle and little brother anyone could ask for.
Ryan Grafton, 30, died this morning in a horrific crash in Brisbane.
He was an innocent Uber passenger when police say a man in a stolen car ran a red light and crashed into the shared car at high speed.
The accident happened on Boundary Road in Wacol in the southwest of the city.
“He was a big, kind hearted man who loved his family,” his sister Lauren told 9News
“I will remember him how he adored my niece and my daughter. He loved her more than anything.’
Mr Grafton was in the car with his girlfriend Amelia Winden, 26, and Uber driver Hussain Ali Mohammed, 46, when they were hit at 2.15am by the driver of a stolen Ford Mondeo.
Both are in stable condition in hospital.
Instead of stopping to help, the driver fled in what police described as a “heinous act”.
The police have launched a full-scale search.
They’re confident they know who they’re looking for, but they’re calling on that person to surrender.
Police will allege the car was stolen in the early hours of yesterday morning, with the driver’s movements from that point until the crash the focus of the investigation.
While the vehicle involved is a Ford Mondeo, the number plates are registered to a Holden Barina.
Police are asking for a dashcam recording or other information.
We’ve reached out to Uber for comment.
