2nd over: Ireland 7-0 (Balbirnie 5, Stirling 2) Mohammad Siraj’s first over is even livelier. Balbirnie is beaten by three successive deliveries, the last of which bursts from a length and is brilliantly stopped by Rishabh Pant. Balbirnie gets a boundary as Siraj drifts on the pads.

There is some swing to Arshdeep who beats Stirling with a ball that is kept a little low. Sterling’s second and third attempts to walk the track were less successful; Arshdeep squeezes him for a spot with one delivery and then zips a batsman past his leg. A really good start.
